What is SA302 Tax Calculation?

An HMRC tax-calculation document used as evidence of declared self-employed income.

Also called: Tax calculation

Definition

An SA302 or online tax calculation summarises the income and tax calculation from a Self Assessment return. Mortgage lenders may request it with tax-year overviews, accounts, bank statements or accountant information. Required years and accepted formats vary.

Practical example

A sole trader might provide tax calculations and matching tax-year overviews so the lender can verify submitted figures.

Why it matters

Figures should be consistent with the application and any later amendments should be disclosed.
