Our role
MortgageConnector is a mortgage broker introducer, not a mortgage broker and not an FCA-authorised adviser. Our content explains general UK mortgage topics. It is not a personal recommendation or regulated mortgage advice.
How we research
For rates, thresholds, schemes, lender products, regulation, and tax, we prioritise current primary sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC, the Bank of England, the FCA Register, lender product pages, and lender documents. Material claims should link to the source that supports them and state when the information was checked.
Authorship and review
Every indexable guide must identify its author and meaningful update date. Content that could influence a financial decision is placed into factual review before publication or after a material market change. Where a qualified mortgage professional has reviewed a page, their identity, relevant experience, and review date are displayed. We do not label unreviewed content as expert-reviewed.
Updates and corrections
Time-sensitive pages are checked against their cited source on a defined schedule. A page is corrected, noindexed, redirected, or removed when we cannot keep it accurate. Meaningful corrections change the displayed review date; cosmetic edits do not. To report an error, use the contact page and include the page URL and the supporting source.
AI-assisted work
Automated tools may assist with research organisation, drafting, or quality checks. They are not treated as a source. Financial facts must be checked against an attributable source before publication, and a human remains responsible for the final page.
Commercial independence
Consumers do not pay MortgageConnector. A partner broker may pay us a referral fee after an introduction. That commercial relationship does not determine the factual conclusions of a guide or comparison. Comparisons state their scope, date, source basis, and any material limitations.
Safety
Mortgage circumstances are individual and lender criteria change. Verify decisions with an FCA-authorised mortgage broker. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
