Locum work is a series of bookings. The rate, the gaps and whether you are paid by an agency, an umbrella or your own company all change the file.
What this page will not do
- Annualising one week of shifts overstates the year if the diary is not full.
- A substantive NHS post that has ended should be shown as ended.
- It will not name a lender, a product, or an approval chance.

- Will my day rate be multiplied by 52?
- This page will not do that. Some lenders use a working pattern. Ask the broker which one they are using.
- Is locum work the same as a contractor outside IR35?
- Only if that is actually how you are engaged. The contract decides, not the job title.
